University of Pennsylvania president resigns amid backlash over Congress antisemitism testimony

College of Pennsylvania President Liz Magill, who experienced harsh criticism for her position on discrimination against Jews on her foundation’s grounds, has “offered her renunciation,” as per a message sent on Saturday by the seat of the elite-level educational committee of legal administrators.

Magill was one of three leaders of top colleges who were reprimanded after they affirmed at a legislative catching wind of an ascent in discrimination against Jews on school grounds following the episode of the Israel-Hamas war.

She has consented to remain on until a broken president is designated, Scott Bok, the seat of the Philadelphia-based college’s leading body of legal administrators, said on Saturday.

“I write to share that President Liz Magill has willfully offered her renunciation as the College of Pennsylvania leader. She will stay a tenured employee at Penn Carey Regulation,” Bok said.

Magill, Harvard College President Claudine Gay, and Massachusetts Foundation of Innovation President Sally Kornbluth all affirmed before Tuesday’s U.S. Place of Agents panel.
