Apply for the TAGDev 2.0 Scholarship (RUFORUM/Mastercard Foundation)

Calling all academically talented yet economically challenged African students! Partnering with Mastercard Foundation, RUFORUM (Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture) is offering a life-changing opportunity through the TAGDev 2.0 Scholarship program.

This 10-year initiative (2023-2033) aims to empower young Africans to drive positive change in agriculture and food systems. The program strengthens universities in Kenya and Uganda to equip students with the skills and knowledge to achieve this goal.

Who can Apply?

  • Nationals of Kenya and Uganda
  • Refugees residing in Uganda or Kenya
  • Applicants from disadvantaged backgrounds, conflict zones, or marginalized communities
  • Undergraduate applicants: below 25 years old
  • Master’s applicants: below 30 years old (34 years for refugees and persons with disabilities)
  • Completed secondary school/diploma within the last two years (for undergraduate applications)
  • Meet admission requirements at Egerton or Gulu University
  • Demonstrate passion for agriculture, agribusiness, and entrepreneurship
  • Possess leadership qualities and a commitment to serving others
